TrackMeNot… Not!

Bruce Schneier on TrackMeNot (summary) :

Let’s count the ways this doesn't work

  • One, it doesn't hide your searches.
  • Two, it’s too easy to spot.
  • Three, some of the program’s searches are worse than yours.
  • And four, it wastes a whole lot of bandwidth.

Hum. Tought so too, I had my spider-geek-sense tingling - this is a bad idea! But I lacked the critical perspective Bruce has. Security thru obscurity (or partial obfuscation) does not work. Case closed.
