I emailed the 2-3 listed organizers last week to see how things where coming along with BarCamp Montreal 2006… I self-promoted myself as one of the main organizer, having cleared up my schedule and being really pumped up about this fall conference and tech events season (I am quite fond of these type of events).
Got an answer from Mitch and Fred : I will be officially kicking things off for this next week, but I wanted to share some of my ideas with you…The date for barcamp has been set to october 21st and I would like to adjoin the friday to organize a Montreal AJAX meetup and a Ruby On Rails developpers day…
So watch this place and the BarCamp.org Montreal page for action next week, I have this desire for a great hackday/meetup/mashcamp since the first Constellation W3 meeting two years ago, but this time I plan to be much more involved in the organization of the event.
With my previous experience with more formal event (like the CLLAP 2006) and implication with several local groups and meetups in the last few years, I really think we will have a critical mass of geeks and creatives (yeah, maybe even a few suits!) for a helluva day!
