Tungle is a really interesting startup based in Montreal. I had the chance to meet with them a few weeks ago, while working for Desjardins Capital doing a technical due diligence. Marc Gingras, Tungle’s CEO there is an experienced startup guy, he has entrepreneur’s blood running thru his veins. They developed and interesting twist to an age old business problem :
Tungle is a light but powerful peer-to-peer (P2P) meeting coordinator. You can use Tungle to arrange meetings with friends, coworkers or business associates no matter where they are or what calendaring software they use.
Tungle provides you with a view of the times your friends, co-workers or business associates are free or busy - in advance of sending a meeting invitation.
It’s Windows and Outlook only for the moment but I know other OS and calendar systems (yes, that means iCal and gCal and OSX, can't wait!).
Keep an eye on them. I was impressed by the small and focused dev team there, they made a lot of good choices under the hood and the integration with host calendaring system is really well done. Kudos to the team, today is official launch with a public demo at the under the radar : office 2.0 conference.
Thanks to David Dufresne who got me involved with Tungle, I am always happy to meet innovators and passionate technology teams!
